A hidden gem in the heart of Detroit, the inn’s hand-picked staff is dedicated to a four-star level of service demonstrated by a concierge desk ready to cater to a guest’s every whim. Guests enjoy such luxurious amenities as antique furnishings and art curated from across the globe, spa-quality bath products and high-thread-count linens. A serene massage room and well-equipped business center round out the inn’s convenient amenities. Staff members have an unwavering focus on each guest. Guests are treated to a specialty complimentary continental breakfast of pastries, fresh fruit, cereal, juices, and a variety of coffee & tea flavors (currently unavailable due to COVID-19 precautions).

Designed by famous architect John V. Smith, the inn was completed in 1876 as a private home for philanthropist John Harvey and his family. At several times throughout history, the inn reigned as the most expensive private home in Detroit. A recent painstaking renovation has restored the building to its original glory with the same careful attention to detail for which its architect was admired. The Inn at 97 Winder achieved acceptance into the National Register of Historic Places in 1991. It is truly a standout among Detroit hotels.
